Short pulse required

Published by Marc Steele on

Q: Why =
does CMT recommend a short pulse on the valve for air impact =
markers?

A: An air impact marker is designed to provide an =
“instantaneous” force. After the force is dissipated in the =
initial blow the seals are designed to release air. If the valve is set =
for a lengthy time (2) things happen

1)      =
The air flow will flow out of the marker and may =
be mistaken for a leaky system

2)      =
Continued flow of air through the seals will =
reduce the life span
