Air Valve Requirements

Published by Marc Steele on

Q: I am going to have 5 of these markers working simultaneously. What would be appropriate valving configuration? Do I need to have separate valve for each marker or should I go with one valve with bigger flow for all of them. Please let me know.

A: Yes you need a separate valve for each of them. Please note that the air requirements for air impact markers are referenced through the following link: http://columbiamt.com/CMT-Impact-Marking/Air-Requirements.html

Air Requirements

A simple chart gives various information for Air Impact Models. The information includes the bore size, stroke length, and relative time to extend, CV, SCFM, and expected drop in pressure of the compressed air.

The Air Impact Marker is not generated soley dependent on the air flow. The force is a combination of the air pressure and speed at whcih the rod/hammer is moving.
