Reverse characters

Published by Bernard Sparks on

Q: What is the difference between standard engraved characters and reverse characters?

A: We at CMT get this question a lot. The mark as seen on your part will determine this.

Example 1. If you are marking a flat piece of steel and you want the mark to read correctly after marking, you would need standard engraved characters.

Example 2. If you are marking a mold and you want the part mark to read correctly after the molding process. Then you would need reverse engraved characters.
