Dot-Style Character date code onto an automotive part.
Columbia Marking Tools air impact markers are commonly used for high production marking of date codes onto steel parts. The super fast cycle time paired with the economic costs are hard to overlook.
The classic choice of character style is sharp face – which give clear linear elements to each character. However, sometimes the Dot-Style character style is required. The reasons include:
- Deeper mark required
- Need a mark to be made with less force
- Need larger characters
- Part may be thin
The deeper marks created with the Dot-Style characters are also better at showing through a paint or other coating after the marking process.
