2D Code – Number of Characters Encrypted
The amount of information that you need to encrypt into the code determines the number of rows and columns that are in the 2D code or data matrix.
A 48 x 48 dot matrix can hold/encrypt up to 348 characters.
Symbol Size | Encoded | |
Row x Column | Number | Character |
10 x 10 | 6 | 3 |
12 x 12 | 10 | 6 |
14 x 14 | 16 | 10 |
16 x 16 | 24 | 16 |
18 x 18 | 36 | 25 |
20 x 20 | 44 | 31 |
22 x 22 | 60 | 43 |
24 x 24 | 72 | 52 |
The numbers of rows and columns is not the physical size of the mark. The 2D code Size is independent on the encryption amount and may be specified separately and it may be as small or large as you want as long as the camera can read it.
